• English Nature recently confirmed the notification of Mottisfont Bats SSSI to protect the rare barbastelle bat and eight other bat species. The site has also been submitted as a candidate Special Area of Conservation (cSAC).
  
  
• English Nature is working with Portsmouth City Council to restore Portsdown Hill SSSI, an area of chalk grassland.
  
  
• To help safeguard Hampshire’s mudflats and eelgrass beds, English Nature and others have produced The Bait Collectors’ Code.
  
  
• English Nature is working with the Test & Itchen Landcare project to identify sources of pollution entering these internationally important rivers.
  
  
• English Nature is working in partnership with Havant Borough Council to restore areas of sand dune and vegetated shingle at Sinah Common SSSI.
