Hampshire Woodland Forum (Biodiversity Group)

  • A woodland ‘biodiversity group’ is examining and prioritising the actions listed in the Hampshire Ancient Semi-natural Woodland HAP.

  • Hampshire County Council and the Forestry Commission continue to support the restoration of Hazel coppice. In recent months 8 schemes have been funded.

  • The Hampshire Coppice Craftsmen’ Group was formed in 2003 to represent the interests of coppice craftsman and promote the practice and benefits of coppicing. Information about the Group and its meetings can be found on the website www.hampshirecoppice.org.uk .

  • South East Woodland News is a new publication that focuses on woodland issues. It is produced by the Forestry Commission and local authorities and distributed to woodland owners and others involved in the management of woodlands.
