Implementation

All organisations in the Hampshire Biodiversity Partnership play an important role in implementing the Biodiversity Action Plan. The strategy for implementing action is:

  • Individual partners have been identified for each of the actions set out in topic, habitat and species action plans;
  • Each topic, habitat and species action plan also has a lead partner or group to co-ordinate and oversee the implementation of the actions listed in the plan
  • In addition, the Partnership has set up a number of topic groups to develop and oversee the Partnership's activity in key themes:

Monitoring

During 2005 the Partnership undertook a thorough review of its aims and objectives. Many of the original goals are still very relevant, but new priorities have to take account of developments in policy and practice.

As a result of the review, the Partnership has agreed 21 key objectives and will monitor progress against these every 2 years. The objectives encompass the wide range of action for biodiversity being undertaken in Hampshire. The 21 objectives and the results of the first reporting round were published in June 2006 and are summarised in the Review of Progress 2005/06. The next review will be published in June 2008.
